The IBC-Br Index of Economic Activity in Brazil, a leading indicator of output growth, increased 0.25% month-over-month in May 2024, following an upwardly revised 0.6% rise in April, and despite heavy rains in Rio Grande do Sul that disrupted infrastructures. On a non-seasonally adjusted basis, the IBC-Br grew by 1.3% over May 2023 and rose by 1.66% over the past 12 months.
